Believe it or not, It’s almost that time of the year again. Yes, we’re talking about the holidays! To help you prepare for all the back-to-back parties and gatherings, we have got just the perfect look that’ll have heads turning. Nothing beats a classic ruby lip, and best of all, it doesn’t require hundreds of dollars or thousands of hours to create (we promise). Here, makeup expert Gurleen AKA @GlamByGilly takes us through this quick step-by-step tutorial.
Step 1: Get your face ready
Start by priming your face with Maybelline’s Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. The primer will help prolong the wear of your foundation for hours while also blurring away any pores on your skin. Next, use Real Technique’s Miracle Contour Wedges to generously apply a layer of foundation all over your face.
If you are looking for a matte finish, use L.A. Color’s Truly Matte Foundation. It is extremely long-lasting and is available in 14 shades. Make sure to spray the wedges with setting spray to prevent the product from getting absorbed. Nyx Cosmetic’s Matte Setting Spray is a good one to have in your collection as its formula will ensure your makeup stays on your face while also providing a shine-free look. Don’t forget to conceal your under eyes, nose and forehead to brighten up your face and hide any blemishes, then set it all in place with a translucent powder.
Step 2: Finish up your eyes
The key to nailing the perfect red lip is simplicity. To make your lips pop, we suggest keeping your eyeshadow as neutral as possible. We love the subtle gold shade @GlamByGilly used. No eye look is ever complete without some false lashes. The Ardell’s Double Up Lashes has twice the amount of lashes on each band to deliver a more glamorous look, ideal for a special occasion. Step 3: Perfect your pout
Now, finish up this look with the perfect creamy, bright red lipstick. Nyx Cosmetics’ Simply Red Lip Cream is a great choice because it’s smooth formula easily glides onto the lips and isn’t dehydrating at all — truly perfect for winter — while the crayon-tip is designed for the precise application.
